On the 31st May 2018 the NSW Government announced that Ettamogah Rail Hub had been successful in obtaining funding under the NSW Fixing Country rail program to undertake a major extension of its existing siding complex. The expansion will allow longer trains of up to 1200 metres in length to pull into the Ettamogah Hub to load and unload freight.
